Marcus Giavanni (born 1960) is a Google+ Conversation Authority, entrepreneur, and politician in Denver, Colorado. He ran as a write-in candidate in the Denver Denver mayoral election, 2011 and again as a write in candidate in the Colorado gubernatorial election, 2014. He is on the ballot for the Denver mayoral election, 2015 to be held on May 5, 2015. If elected he would be Denver's second Hispanic Mayor. The first was Federico Peña. ==Biography== Adopted in Phoenix, Arizona as an infant, he was raised as the youngest of seven children. He descends from the native Taíno population of Puerto Rico. He struggled in school as a result of what was much later in life diagnosed as dyslexia. He did not graduate High School. He created a long-standing career as an entrepreneur starting as a child, selling candy door-to-door and mowing lawns. After leaving school he worked as a concert promoter, a night club manager/owner, a vocalist, master auto mechanic and a master house/auto painter. He is the author of the book, Nelson vs. the United States of America: A System in Denial, published in 1998. In 2011, he filed a complaint against the Stephanie O'Malley in her capacity as Clerk and Recorder of the City and County of Denver over his exclusion from the ballot in that year's municipal election.
